Sheila Kaplan is a longtime education researcher, publisher, consultant, program developer, and former school board member.
Sheila believes access to information about education is critical to creating an informed public making decisions about our schools. For this reason, in the 1990s she founded Education New York -- the only independent education print publication in New York state. Education New York Online is the next generation of her efforts to offer education news, policy and research, and related information to as wide an audience as possible.
Sheila holds master's degrees in Social Work (Fordham University) and Information Management and Policy (University at Albany). She is the author of the policy paper on student mobility Moving Forward.
She is currently looking at information policy & privacy and resides in New York City.
